Claiming a device
Download as PDFBefore a Consibio device can send data to your project, it must be claimed. Claiming connects the physical device to your project so that its measurements, status and battery level show up in Consibio Cloud.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”- A Consibio Cloud account with permission to add devices to the project.
- The device itself — the QR code is printed on it.
Claim the device
Section titled “Claim the device”- In Consibio Cloud, open the Devices view from the main menu.
- Select Claim device.
- Scan the QR code on the device with your camera — or enter the device ID manually if scanning isn’t possible.
- Confirm which project the device should be added to.
- Give the device a recognizable name (for example, the location where it’s installed).
The device now appears in your Devices list. Once it comes online, its measurements start flowing into the project automatically.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- The device doesn’t appear after claiming — devices report on an interval; give it a few minutes. Check that the device is powered on.
- “Device already claimed” — the device belongs to another project. It must be released from that project before it can be claimed again. Contact your administrator, or support@consibio.com if you don’t know which project claimed it.
